Eero Siivola joins Vuono Group

Eero Siivola joins Vuono Group as a Data Scientist.

Eero brings strong expertise in machine learning, data-driven problem solving, and leading complex analytical projects from concept to impact. With over 10 years of experience he possesses a rare combination of deep technical mastery and the strategic skill to translate advanced methods into real-world value.

Eero holds a Doctor of Science from Aalto University, specialising in probabilistic machine learning. During his doctoral studies, he collaborated with global organisations like Amazon and Novartis, applying advanced modelling techniques to high-dimensional and complex problems. Alongside his academic work, Eero co-founded a machine learning consultancy and later led his own R&D team at the Finnish Environment Institute for three years.

According to Eero, his first impression of Vuono Group is that it is a place where ambitious experts are trusted to take ownership and make decisions. The culture of openness and responsibility strongly resonates with his own way of working.

“I’m excited to become a Vuonoan. I joined Vuono to apply my background in machine learning and data science more directly to business problems. I believe the most impactful work happens when strong technical foundations are paired with a clear understanding of critical business needs, and this is exactly what we do together with our clients,” Eero says.

Eero’s approach goes beyond selecting the right algorithm. He enjoys diving deep into complex challenges to ensure operational efficiency and accelerated growth for the long term.

“Eero’s holistic perspective, combined with leadership experience, allows him to bridge the gap between technical teams, stakeholders, and end users. He excels in evaluating alternative approaches, and understanding trade-offs across the entire data pipeline,” says Teemu Moisala, Managing Partner at Vuono Group.

Outside of work, Eero enjoys spending time with his family and in nature, often both at the same time. His hobbies include sea kayaking, sailing, and hiking. In autumn, Eero also likes to prepare for winter by filling his freezers with berries and mushrooms. When he is not enjoying nature, you can likely find him in museums or art exhibitions, which he greatly enjoys.
