Reko Morikawa joins Vuono Group

Reko Morikawa joins Vuono Group as a Talent & People Ops Lead from Tesseract.

Reko is a Talent & People Ops Lead who wants to make sure every Vuonoan can reach their highest potential at work. Previously Reko has led the recruitment, organisation planning, and people development at DealDash. Most recently as Head of Talent at Tesseract, Reko was hiring and building people ops practices such as feedback culture, performance management, compensation structuring, and HR analytics.

Reko’s educational background isn’t the most typical one for someone working in people operations – he studied Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University, majoring in Organisation Design and Leadership. His knowledge and background from business development, strategy, and analytics give Reko a unique mindset as an engineer working in people operations.

“I’m confident in Reko’s ability as a Talent & People Ops Lead to navigate through growth while enabling everyone to develop professionally here at Vuono Group. When our people grow, the business grows”, says Teemu Moisala, founder at Vuono Group.

Reko saw great potential in Vuono Group and wanted to join the team. He finds the current growth phase extremely interesting for a people ops expert like himself.

“I’ve always loved fast-moving startup environments as the pace of learning is so exciting and motivating! The opportunity to help scale up Vuono Group and build the culture from an early stage excites me”, Reko says.

When Reko isn’t designing a functioning organisation or building a company culture that lifts up its employees, he is most likely playing some kind of a sport or a game. He is currently most excited about pursuing a more ambitious career in football refereeing.

“I will never turn down an opportunity for a round of golf either. But I’m also a craft beer enthusiast and a foodie who likes to experiment cooking needlessly complicated recipes”, Reko laughs.
